As a business
communicator, you must carefully consider every message you deliver, whether
the audience consists of your clients (lest they go elsewhere), your
employees (lest they lose motivation), your colleagues (lest they
misunderstand – and sue), your stockholders (lest they lose confidence).
“Just winging it” is not good enough.
I have worked with a number of top-level
executives in crafting formal speeches and sales professionals to finetune
their sales presentations. I have saved them countless hours by allowing
them to do what they do best – their jobs – rather than spending time
agonizing over the words, wondering if they will have any effect at all or
simply fall flat.
Whether it’s to educate, enthuse, encourage to buy or whatever, I guarantee
that when you’re done speaking, your audience won’t just say, “Okay, that
was interesting”… they’ll say, “WOW, he really knows what he’s
talking about!”
